THE PORCELAIN POTTY

A public potty with a golden thrown, built in the privacy of nature, providing all the function & none of the form.

The Porcelain Potty takes a deeper look at the definition of a folly, an architectural structure with little to no function set in a park. This version of a folly places the value on the parts unseen and camouflages itself within a cluster of trees. The project begins to analyze and then reject the more traditional idea of architectural form, function, and value posed by the folly. By underlaying the architectural viewpoint with the cultural, environmental and aesthetic commentary we get what looks like a box inside an unfinished building. The inner box represents the core basic needs while the outer box expresses the idea of minimalism by presenting the product and the resource in a single environment.
